Wei Wu received her PhD from the National University of Singapore in 2014 with dual-training in cancer biology and mass spectrometry (MS). In this period, she was supported by the President’s Graduate Fellowship and was the recipient of three international Young Investigator Awards in Berlin, Yokohama and Beijing, each time showcasing her ability to combine MS technologies with the pursuit of mechanisms in cancer biology.
During her postdoc in the Netherlands, Wei developed diverse and sensitive affinity tools to study the tumor micro-environment (TME), and became interested in antigen presentation. In 2017, she started her group in Utrecht University with a niche in cancer antigen discovery and TME crosstalk, focusing on modulators of T cell function. Since 2021, she has been a member of the HIPP Executive Committee.
In 2022, Wei relocated back to Singapore with a joint appointment as Senior Principal Investigator in A*STAR Singapore Immunology Network and Associate Professor in National University of Singapore, Department of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is a recipient of the prestigious Asian Young Scientist Fellowship in 2024, and co-chair of the HUPO2026 meeting in Singapore.
Associate Professor Pouya Faridi is a translational immunologist and mass spectrometry expert with over 20 years of experience in proteomics and mass spectrometry technologies. At the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and Monash University, he leads the Translational Antigen Discovery Laboratory and directs the Monash Proteomics & Metabolomics Platform at the Monash Health Translation Precinct.
His research focuses on immunopeptidomics and the discovery of tumour-specific peptide–HLA antigens to enable precision immunotherapy, particularly for paediatric cancers. Antigens discovered through his work have progressed into clinical trials, supporting vaccine and TCR-T development. His team integrates advanced mass spectrometry, multi-omics, and functional immunology to translate antigen discovery into clinically actionable strategies.
He serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) and is an Executive Committee member of the HUPO Human Immunopeptidome Project (HUPO-HIPP), contributing to international leadership and standardisation in proteomics and immunopeptidomics.
